Ever hear an expectant mother worrying about how she is going to deal with a group of close in age children? Have you yourself been in a position to worry about the practicalities of life with:
- 2 kids under 2. 2 kids under 1 1/2. 2 kids under 1.
- 3 kids under 3. 3 kids under 2 1/2. 3 kids under 2.
- 4 kids under 4. 4 kids under 3 1/2. 4 kids under 3. Wait – did you say 4 under 3?! What am I going to do?!?!?!?!!!
I have been there. I have lived through all of these gaps. Yes, even the 4 kids under the age of 3! Our oldest living child was barely 6 months old when we found out we were carrying our next; a natural set of twins arrived when the “older kids” were mere toddlers of 1 1/2 and 2 3/4 years. We have been abundantly blessed!
I am by no means an expert, but I have been blessed to learn a few things about how to make life manageable with close in age children. Recently, a few other moms have asked for ideas on certain challenges with close age gaps, so I have been reflecting on how we have made things work in our family; what has helped and what has not. I would like to start a series here on my blog with tricks of the trade for any mothers who might come across this and benefit from my mistakes. I have been thinking about starting a series like this for some time, and pray that anyone who reads this will feel like their burden has been lifted even in the slightest degree. I will update this tread with a list of all the posts I have written within this topic:
My God bless you and your family of young children!
